Who can join Omega Phi Alpha?

Any student at Oklahoma State University who is in good academic standing and is willing to dedicate their time to service can be considered for a bid to become a pledge of Omega Phi Alpha. While we use the pronoun "sisters" when referencing our members, Omega Phi Alpha is an all-gender-inclusive organization!

How is a service sorority like Omega Phi Alpha different than other sororities on campus?

A service sorority is an organization whose members are passionate about doing service. Every member of OPhiA is a sister because she is dedicated to spending time helping others. However, we are not restricted to only doing service! Sisters also have the opportunity to make new friends, develop leadership skills, and form bonds with other students at Oklahoma State.

We share many similarities with other sororities on campus, too! We have big and little sisters, social outings, retreats, and formals; but what ultimately sets us apart is our passion and dedication to service. Rather than participating in several large projects per year, OPhiA sisters are actively involved in an ongoing system of service that benefits many different organizations, causes, and areas.

Can I be in other organizations while in Omega Phi Alpha?

YES! Many OPhiA sisters are actively involved on campus. However, OPhiA is a time commitment, so conflicts may arise. Any perspective members are encouraged to consider the time commitment of their other activities before rushing to make sure they are able to balance their commitments.
